Kaman National Development Party (KNDP) has set five policies. Some policies are similar to those of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP).

The KNDP’s five policies are:

1. upholding non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national unity and perpetuation of sovereignty

 2. making all-out efforts for the emergence of a modern developed and democratic country in cooperation with the people and the parties which respect and follow the basic human rights based on equality

3. Oppose terrorism and any other extremism

4. Help build amity based on an upright and unbiased policy with neighboring countries and work for all-round development across the country.

5. Educate and organize the people for the eradication of worthless ideas and thoughts in Myanmar society.

The significant point is this small Muslim party has adopted Our Three Main National Causes upholding non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national unity and perpetuation of sovereignty —which are upheld by the Tatmadaw(Army), and their USDP (The Union Solidarity and Development Party.

The party was allowed to register as an official party on 5 July 2010. The party’s headquarters is located in Yangon.

The party will run for five seats—three in Yangon Region and two in Arakan State. One female candidate is among five candidates. The minimum education of candidates is school graduates.

U Tin Win Hlaing, General Secretary of the party said: “The first priority is to ensure equality among the different communities in Arakan State. We have committed to promoting the status of people in Arakan State, enabling them to get legal protection in accord with the human dignity, making cooperation in the amendment to the laws to shift to a federal system, and re-establishing a harmonious human society among different communities for regional peace, tranquility and development.”

The party’s motto is: “Let’s vote Bow and Arrow to promote the rights of minorities. The party wants to secure all five seats in the upcoming election.

The party is unable to start doing its canvassing due to the stay-home-notice in Yangon and Arakan State.

The party secured no seats in the 2010 and 2015 Elections. Kaman National Development Party has around 4,000 members.

Kaman is one of 135 officially-recognized ethnic groups in Myanmar and their followers belong to the Islamic faith.
