Junta Soldiers Torture and Kill Four Villagers in Salin Township

Junta troops brutally killed four villagers in Kyapin (North) Village in Salin Township, Magway Region on 10 March 2025.

A junta column entered Kyapin (North) Village on 10 March. Villagers fled as the junta soldiers arrived, but they still managed to seize and capture seven villagers, four of whom they killed. It is also believed that they tortured them before killing them.

A resident of Kyapin (North) Village said to Than Lwin Times: “The junta column captured seven villagers, two were let go, one escaped, but the other four were brutally tortured and killed.”

The victims, all from Kyapin (North) Village, were identified as Ko Thet Naung Tun (aged 39), U Aung San Myint (aged 50), U Win Bo (aged 60), and U Min Khaing (aged 50), a stroke patient.

Their bodies were dumped in an old toilet pit at the southeast corner of the village high school compound and covered with garbage. They were found with their hands tied behind their backs with slash wounds to their necks and other areas of their bodies.

Villagers also discovered electric shock devices in school classrooms that had been set up by the junta soldiers. It is believed that the devices were used to torture the four murdered villagers before they were killed by the soldiers.
