Around 50 security members have been killed in the fighting near Mindat of Chin State on June 6th, according to the statement by the Mindat People’s Administration.
Although the CDF in Mandat have little access to modern weapons and mostly use locally-made traditional hunting rifles known as Tumi, they have proved to be surprisingly effective in waging guerilla warfare amidst the forested hills and mountainous terrain of Chin State against the far better equipped Tatmadaw.
An estimated 40 Junta soldiers were killed in the fighting near Chaungsone and 10 more died fighting in Shat village. The military council fired heavy shelling and carried out a bombing in the Chaungsone fighting.
Two members of the CDF-Mindat were killed and around six, wounded in the Chaungsone and one killed and around 15 wounded in the fighting in Shat village.
Mindat CDF recently released the total list of 21 CDF members killed in the fighting between the Chinland Defense Force Mindat and the military council over the period of May 13rd - June 7th.
