The army released seven detainees in Mindat Township in Chin State, at around 10 pm on April 27, after a discussion between the army and the Mindat Defence Force.

The head of Mindat Defense Force said: “Yesterday night seven detainees were released. Now we have kept them in a safe place. But the army has not released some detainees yet. We call on the army to free the rest."

The army released seven of 12 people in Mindat Township.

The security forces detained seven people—four females and three males in Mindat of Chin State on April 24th, while the activists were doing a sticker campaign in front of the Bogyoke Bronze Statue.

The public asked for the release of detainees. Fighting took place between the army and the Mindat Defense Force on April 24, 26 and 27 when the army did not release the detainees.

At least 20 soldiers were killed in the fight between the army and Mindat Defence Force, according to a statement by the Chinland Defense Force-Mindat.

Currently, the troops have withdrawn. The situation remains stable in Mindat Township.
