Belin Township NLD in Mon State has formed a 23-member Township Public Administration Team comprised of town-elders including lawmakers elected in the 2020 election.
The team covers four lawmakers, five town-elders, two lawyers, five civil servants who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), two representatives from the civil society organizations and four from youth organizations. The formation of the township public administration team is to carry out local security duties and to promote the rule of law and community peace and tranquility.

The public administration team will work together with the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Committee Representing Mon Hluttaw (CRMH) in defiance of SAC imposed by the February 1st coup.
The tenure of the public administration team is six months as per the provision of para (1), Chapter-VI of the interim Public Administration Paper.
Currently, township public administration teams are being formed across the country. Plans are underway to urgently form ward/village-level, public administration teams. Similarly, the 22-member public administration team was formed in Kyaikmayaw township on March 2nd.
Security forces are carrying out brutal crackdowns on the anti-coup protestors across the country including all townships in Mon State.
