Three men from the military security intelligence arrested elected NLD candidate Daw Khaw Mar Wu from the National League for Democracy (NLD) while she was attending the Lisu literacy and culture central office in Myitkyina Township on April 1, according to a local.

The whereabouts of Daw Khaw Mar Wu is still unknown.

Daw Khaw Mar Wu won the seat for Constituency-2 in Sawlaw Township in Kachin State in the 2020 General Election, representing the National League for Democracy (NLD).

Since the military coup on February 1st, the army detained MPs in Kachin State. Now the army has released the majority of detainees.
