The first regular session of the third Arakan State parliament will convene on February 9th, said U San Kyaw Hla, Speaker of the Arakan State Parliament.
The selection of the chairperson, the parliament speaker and the deputy speaker among 20 MPs, will be made on the first-day session of Arakan State parliament, he added.
According to the provision of parliamentary law, the speaker of the second Arakan State parliament shall call the third parliament. He shall choose the speaker, deputy speaker and hold oath-taking of elected candidates.
The session of region and state parliaments shall be convened during 15 days since the beginning tenure of lower house parliament.
The first regular session of the third lower house parliament was convened on February 1st.
A total of 15 elected candidates and five military MPs will attend the session of the third Arakan State parliament.
The ANP secured seven seats for Arakan State parliament, the NLD, five seats including Chin Ethnic Affairs Minister, the Arakan Front Party (AFP), two seats and the Union Solidarity and Development (USDP), 15 seats.
