The police have filed a case against two anti-coup protestors in Mannaung Township in Arakan State on February 11th.
The anti-coup protests kicked off in Mannaung Township since February 6th.
The police have laid charges against U Win Naing and U Kyaw Swe under Section 19 of the Peaceful Procession and Peaceful Assembly Law.
They are being detained at the police station, said U Zaw Win Myint, clerk from Mannaung Township police station.
Ko Tin Maung Hlaing, a family member of U Kyaw Swe said: “He will be released after being interrogated. We don’t know whether the police have filed the case against him. We are looking forward to his release as the police have promised. In Mannaung Township, the police warned the protestors to apply for demonstration permit, and also asked them to sign a pledge not to join any future protests.
The police ordered the protestors to disperse and blocked the road.
