U Myint Swe, Chair of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) in Belin Township in Mon State was shot dead on the morning of May 27th.

U Myint Swe’s wife was also severely injured in the shooting.

A local from Belin Township said: “He is a former MP. He was assassinated by two persons who arrived by motorbike. He died on the spot due to shooting. His wife’s jaw was broken.”

Military council forces arrived in Alulay village, blocked the road and conducted the checks.
