Nearly 600 people from three villages have gone into hiding in the forests, as the fighting continues in Khwarharain mountain range in Thantlang Township in Chin State.

“The military council deployed more than 100 soldiers in Khwarharain mountain range. I did not get detailed information about it. People from three villages near the area of the fighting were forced to flee to the forest due to the bombing and shooting. The number of IDPs is between 400 and 600. I cannot compile the list of IDPs,” said an official from the CDF-Htantalan.

Since the beginning of the fighting, almost all people in the war-hit villages have been hiding in the forests.

Due to the incessant rains, the IDPs are in need of food and medicine.
