Mindat-Civil Defense Forces (CDF) were forced to withdraw from Mindat town in May, in the face of overwhelming firepower unleashed by Junta helicopter gunships and ground assault troops, but they are far from defeated.
The CDF launched an ambush on 60 junta soldiers deployed in the compound of a monastery in Shweaungtha village at around 10 pm on June 2nd.

They also claimed no one from the CDF had been killed or injured in the fighting, There are no reports of fighting in other areas.
