Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) will cooperate with the National Unity Government (NUG) for the emergence of a federal union in the future, according to its statement on April 18.
A spokesperson of the KSCC said: “The KSCC will strive for the consolidation of the National Unity Government in our state. We will practice political, executive, legislative and judiciary affairs during this interim period. Even in this period, we will prepare for the federal constitution. We will build up the federal union after the end of the current political crisis.”
The fundamental principles of the future federal democratic union are identical with our ethnic demands. The KSCC will adapt the draft constitution to the current situation, in coordination with the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH).
The KSCC was formed with elected candidates, political parties, EAOs, CSOs, youth and women organizations and experts on April 9th.
The KSCC will perform tasks pertaining to security, economic, social, education, health and culture during the interim period as three pillars are unable to operate.
