Military evicts railway workers who joined CDM from staff quarters in Mawlamyine

The military forced Myanmar Railways staff who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement to get out of the staff quarters in Mawlamyine, Mon State on the morning of March 23rd.

Around 100 police monitored the relocation of CDM staff at around 9 am on March 23rd.

 

The CDM staff and their families are temporarily taking shelter at the houses of their friends and people in Mawlamyine are helping them to move their properties.

More than 10 households with the elderly and children are living there.

 

Railways staff in Mawlawmyine actively participated in the anti-coup protests and CDM and together with fellow railway staff in Yangon and Mandalay have forced train services to be suspended.
