The police arrested at least five anti-coup protestors in Thandwe Township in Arakan State on February 16th.
Ko Zeyar Min, a protestor said: “I saw the arrest of one male and two females.
A protestor who declined to express his name: “The police arrested one civilian, one student and two teachers.”
A local said: “The police arrested around five people. Among them are Ye Paing Htwe, Aung Khaing Myint, Maung Maung and two females. Now the people are full of fears. That’s why, we stage a protest. We don’t want dictatorship.”
Around 50 people staged a protest against the arrest, in front of Thandwe Myoma Police Station.
Although the news agency phoned the police station to ask the situation, the police station replied that they have yet to know it.
