Over 120 administration staff join the Civil Disobedience Movement in Haka of Chin State

Around 10,000 people including civil servants participated in the fourth day’s anti-coup rally in Haka Township in Chin State on February 10th.

A staff member from Haka District General Administration Department Office said: “A total of 124 staff from the state, district and township-level General Administration Department, have launched the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) today. The GAD staff joined the anti-coup rally. The main reason we refuse to work under the military which unjustly seized power. We have launched this movement as we only want to work under the people-elected government.”

Staff from the education, health sectors and the GAD, engineers, staff from other departments, pastors, students and the public participated in the rally.

The public encouraged the protestors by raising three-finger salutes and clapping their hands and closing their shops, to show their opposition to the military coup.
