Tai-Leng (Shan-Ni) Nationalities Development Party (TNDP) plans to run candidates in 27 constituencies in Myitkyina, Waingmaw, Mohnyin, Moegaung, Shwegu, Momauk, Mansi and Hpakant Townships in Kachin State.

The TNDP released the list of its candidates who will compete in the 2020 General Election on 30 July. U Sai Htay Aung, Chair of the TNDP “Our party chose the candidates in accordance with a set of principles. If the party wins the election, the party will deal with the lack of ethic equality and provide affirmative action for Shan people. “

Women have been chosen for 13 percent of all TNDP candidates. Youth candidates aged below 35 are 31 percent and candidates aged above 35 are overall 55 percent.
