The military (Tatmadaw) have launched a nationwide campaign to investigate voters lists and pursue their claim of many irregularities committed in the November election that resulted in a landslide victory for the ruling NLD party.

Now that the UEC has been removed by the military coup and the NLD has been overthrown, all impediments to an investigation into these allegations have been removed allowing the Tatmadaw a free reign to conduct an inquiry without any constraints.

U Lin Kyaw, Secretary of Chin State Election Sub-commission reported that “I heard that the Tatmadaw had arrested all chairs and secretaries of all district and township election sub-commissions in

Chin State yesterday. Two points included in the road map for the investigation formulated by the military- run State Administration Council are the voters list, and the second issue is the conduct of the election.“ There are four districts and nine townships in Chin State.
