People remove PSI satellite dishes in Mohnyin Township

Most of the houses in Mohnyin Township of Kachin State are removing their PSI satellite dishes as there is the circulation of news that the police and the army have ordered the people to remove satellite dishes.

On April 8th, the PSI Myanmar announced via its social media that it would temporarily stop the Mizzima and DVB channels for the security of people. But Mizzima and DVB channels can be watched on April 9th.

A local from Mohnyin Township: “News has spread on social media about the removal of satellite dishes. The news is not detailed or exact. But some houses have decided to remove their satellite dishes.”

News has also spread that the installation of new fiber internet lines has been banned and the existing fiber internet services will be banned in Hohnyin Township.

Currently, people can buy mobile SIM cards only with ID cards in Mohnyin Township.
