Banmauk Township leading to charges filed for similar cases in other townships.

However Daw than than Myat, officer of the Township Election Sub-Commission .reported no charges have been filed in the case of Banmauk Township in Sagaing Region, despite the reports of some issues during the election period.

Ko Hlaing Bwar, a candidate from the Union Betterment Party (UBP) commented “There occurred a voting with the use of fake stamps in Banmauk.”We don’t want to cause damage to others. That’s why the problems were solved through meditation by the negotiation committee.”

A total of 22 candidates competed in the election in Banmauk Township—six for lower house, three for upper house and 13 for region and state parliament.

There are more than 71,000 voter and 111 polling stations. The voter turnout exceeded 56,000.
