The ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) secured 920 seats for three houses of parliaments and ethnic affairs seats, according to the final result released by the Union Election Commission (UEC) on the evening of November 15.

The NLD was followed by the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP)71 seats, the Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD) 42, the Arakan National Party (ANP)15, the Ta’ Aung (Palaung) National Party12, the Mon Unity Party (MUP)12, the Pa-O National Organization (PNO)11, the Kayah State Democratic Party eight, the Kachin State People’s Party four, the Arakan Front Party (AFP)three, Wa National Party three, Lahu National Development Party two, the Zomi Congress for Democracy two, Lisu National Development Party two, the New Democracy Party (Kachin) two, the Karenni National Party one, the Karen People’s Party one, the Shan Nationalities Democratic Party (SNDP) one, the Chin National League for Democracy (CNLD), and two independent candidates.

The NLD secured 158 seats for lower house, 138 for upper house, 501 for region and state parliaments and 23 for ethnic affairs ministers; the USDP- 26 for lower house, seven for upper house and 38 for region and state parliaments; the SNLD- 13 for lower house, two for upper house, 27 for region and state parliaments; the ANP- four for lower house, four for upper house and seven for region and state parliaments; the PNO- three for lower house, two for upper house and seven for region and state parliaments; the MUP- two for lower house, three for upper house, six for region and state parliaments and one for ethnic affairs minister; the Pa-O National Organization-three for lower house, one for upper house and seven for region and state parliaments; the Kayah State Democratic Party- two for lower house, three for upper house and three for region and state parliaments; the Kachin State People’s Party (KSPP)- one for lower house and four for region and state parliaments; the AFP- one for lower house and two for region and state parliaments; Wa National Party- one for lower house and two for region and state parliaments; Lahu National Development Party- one for region and state parliament and one for ethnic affairs minister; the Zomi Congress for Democracy- one for lower house and one for region and state parliament; Lisu National Development Party-one for region and state parliament and one for ethnic affair minister; the New Democracy Party (Kachin)-one for upper house and one for region and state parliament; the Kayan National Party-one for ethnic affairs minister; the Karen People’s Party (KPP)-one for region and state parliament; the Shan Nationalities Democratic Party (SNDP)- one for region and state parliament; the CNLD- one for region and state parliament; and four independent candidates—two for region and state parliament and two for ethnic affairs minister.

The UEC held the elections for 1117 constituencies—315 constituencies for lower house parliament, 161 for upper house parliament, 612 for region and state parliaments and 29 for ethnic affairs ministers.

In the 2020 General Elections, the NLD secured 34 more seats compared with the 2015 General Elections—six for the Union parliament, 26 for region and state parliaments and two for ethnic affairs minister.

In the 2020 General Elections, the USDP secured 46 less seats compared with the 2015 General Elections—eight for the Union parliament, 36 for region and state parliaments and two for ethnic affairs minister.
