Mohnyin Degree College Students’ Union will be neutral towards the All Burma Federation of Students’ Union (ABFSU)’s call for a “No Vote” Campaign against 2020 General Elections, said Ko Wai Lin Aung, Vice-Chair of Mohnyin Degree College Students’ Union.

The ABFSU will boycott the 2020 General Elections and engage in a “No Vote” campaign, according to the press conference at Yadanarbon University on 8 August.

“Ko Ike Pha, a student from Mohnyin Degree College said: “This is the age of democracy. Any persons who have turned 18 have the right to vote. Everyone has the freedom to decide whether he or she will to vote or not. No one can force someone to cast their vote. With our First Past the Post (FPTP) system, even our single vote can elect an MP. That’s why I want the people to cast their votes,” he added.

“Due to the “No Vote” campaign, there will be no significant change. The political view in our country will decide whether the people will cast their votes or not,” said Ko Thar Htoo Htoo, a student.
