Since February the total number of anti-coup protestors killed by the security forces has reached three in Mawlamyine of Mon State. Nationwide the death toll is 217.

Maung Tauk Tun from Zaykyo ward became the third victim killed by the security forces. He was shot in the neck in the brutal crackdown by the security forces on February 28th and died on March 16th.

Due to the brutal crackdowns, Maung Zin Myo Thu, died on February 28th and third-year Geology Student Maung Htet Wai Htoo, 23, from Thirimyaing ward who was shot in the head, died on March 3rd.

Security forces are making brutal crackdowns on the anti-coup protestors using sound bombs, tear gas, rubber bullets and live ammunition. The authorities have not released the information about the deaths, injuries and arrests to townships in Mon State. People continue their anti-coup protests in different forms.

According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) from February 1st to March 17th, 217 people were reported dead and 1,872 people were arrested and charged. The exact number of the injured is still unknown.
