The Kaman National Ethnic Party (KNDP) sent a letter to Military Chief General Min Aung Hlaing, calling for an explanation about the disclosure of only six Arakan ethnic parties in his message, said U Tin Hlaing Win, General Secretary of Kaman National Ethnic Party.

In his message sent to the ceremony to mark the 46th Arakan State Day which falls on December 15th, Military Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing mentioned Arakan, Thet, Daingnet, Mro, Khami and Maramagyi but failed to mention the Kaman.

The General Secretary of Kaman National Ethnic Party asserted  “As a head of Myanmar Tatmadaw, we want him to be honest, transparent and constructive about our existence. That is why we want to know why the military chief left out our ethnic party.

Does it mean that he shows no respect or he doesn’t want to recognize the Kaman? Or else it was left out when the statement was issued.

Our party demands an explanation "The government and the Tatmadaw should not ignore us instead of extending a helping hand to ethics. Our demand is aimed for the interests of all 135 ethnic groups, not just for the interest of Arakan State”, he added.

On July 5, 2010, the Kaman National Development Party was officially allowed to be registered as a political party. In the 2020 General Elections, the KNDP competed in five seats—three in Yangon Region and two in Arakan State. The party secured no seat from the 2010 to 2020 General Elections.

The KNDP is a Muslim party and one of 135 officially-recognized ethnic groups in Myanmar.
