The Kayah State Basic Education Teachers’ Union said it supports the National Unity Government (NUG).
“Now we (education department) get a new leader. We will follow the new instructions of the new minister and the deputy minister appointed by the NUG. We will not follow the instructions of the Education Ministry formed by the military council.”
An information officer of the Kayah State Basic Education Teachers’ Union said: “We will not follow the orders of the military council, and we continue to support the CDM.”
The Union will follow the instructions of the NUG formed by the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) on April 16th and of the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC).
The KSCC will perform executive, legislative and judiciary duties, in cooperation with the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) and the NUG.
Kayah State Education Department has 5,030 staff. Of them, 3,413 staff joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM).
