IDPs in Demoso hide in trenches amid junta’s continued mortar shelling

The regime forces are constantly firing mortar shells at the IDP camps in the western part of Demoso, Kayah State, so the IDPs are hiding in the trenches, Demoso PDF told Than Lwin Times.

On the night of October 8, a heavy weapon fired from Demoso police station exploded in a refugee camp, injuring two women, one of whom is in critical condition.

An official of the Demos PDF said that those fleeing the conflict were warned to be careful.

According to the Karenni social rescue team, there are 278 civilians who were intentionally killed by the military council in Karenni State.

Millions of people have been displaced since the military coup in Myanmar and are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.
