Security forces arrested U Zar Tu Hlyan (aka) U Par Tu, former Nyaungbintha ward administrator in Kalay Township in Sagaing Region on April 21st.

Ex-ward administrator U Par Tun resigned to show his opposition to the coup since the army seized the country’s power and formed the State Administration Council (SAC) on February 1st.

A local from Kalay Township said: “He is detained at around 3 pm. He resigned since the coup. The police and soldiers searched his house and did not find him. He was arrested by security forces at the house where he was hiding.”

Security forces also abducted four youth from their houses in Sanmyo ward in Kalay Township on April 20th.
