The Arakan League for Democracy (ALD) has consecutively opened township offices in three towns in the Rakhine State.
“[The township offices] were opened in Ponnagyun on March 24, Mrauk U on March 25, and Mingya on March 27,” said U Myo Kyaw, the general secretary of the ALD.
The party’s chair U Kyaw Myint attended the opening ceremonies of the three township offices.
“The township offices are opened to meet directly with the public in line with the policy set down by the party and serve the public’s interest. Many party campaigns can be carried out by opening these offices,” U Myo Kyaw continued.
The ALD has currently opened township offices in eight towns, namely Ponnagyun, Mrauk U, Minbya, Toungup, Kyauktaw, Ramree, Pauktaw, and Kyaukpyu.
The party will also establish Kyaukpyu Township Ward/Village offices within this month, according to U Myo Kyaw.
