The army detained nearly 30 Kachin youth from villages located on Ledo road in Hukawng Valley in Tanaing Township in Kachin State on the evening of May 15th.

They are being detained at the Tanaing Army Regional Operations Commands.

The detainees are from Naungme and Warrarzwat villages on Ledo road, according to a local from Naungme.

“The army detained them when they came from the KIA Brigade-2 area. The number of detainees is around 30. The detainees are from Naungme and Warrarzwat villages on Ledo road. But I don’t know all the details. I am making an investigation into it,” he added.

The detainees are: 27 from Naungme village and two from Wahrarzwat village. Village administrators continue to investigate the detailed situations.
