The authorities have filed a case against 17 anti-coup protestors under Section 505 (a) of the Penal Code in Yay Township in Mon State according to local sources.

Three anti-coup protestors were killed in brutal crackdowns in Mon State.

Many people have been detained and wounded.

On the morning of March, 22nd security forces made brutal crackdowns on peaceful protestors using excessive forces A total of 17 youths were arrested in the brutal crackdown.

They are being detained at Kyaikmayaw prison. Most of the detainees are young females according to locals.

Section 505 (a) of the Penal Code carries a three-year prison sentence.

Due to the crackdowns, a few people continue their anti-coup protests in different forms.

According to the latest update by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), Over 260 have been killed by police and the military. 2,812 people were arrested and charged.

A total of 109 people have gone into hiding due to the issuance of arrest warrants, 394 people have been released and 2,418 people facing trial are in prison.
