An emergency meeting was held this afternoon at the Kyaikhto Township Election Commission office to discuss an incident that occurred with thirty-seven spoiled ballots in Kyaukkhami in Mon State’s Thanbyuzayat Township.

Commission officials wanted to call back voters to cast their votes on new ballots, according to Daw Mi Chaw Su Latt, Lower House candidate for Mon National Party, that had attended the meeting.

But NLD Upper House candidate Daw Myat Thidar Tun didn’t agree and said at the meeting she will file a lawsuit if they go through with it.

At press time, it’s unknown if voters were called back or not.
