Only one voter is allowed inside the secret voting room at a time, and ballots are sealed in an envelope before being placed in one ballot box.
Among the 1,687 eligible voters in Walthonchaung village, 476 are members of the regiment, including relatives.
The National League for Democracy; the All Mon Region Democracy Party; the Mon National Party; the Women’s Party (Mon); the National Unity Party; the National Development Party; the Union Solidarity and Development Party and 8 independent candidates are contesting seats in Thanbyuzayat Township, located in Mawlamyine District.
