Aik Sai — Around 100 military personnel, police officers, and their family members have been allowed to vote in Mon State’s Chaungzon Township, according to Chaungzon Township Election Sub-Commission’s office.
“We only have 34 military personnel and their family members on the voter list, but there are also over 60 police officers and their family members [on the voter list],” said U Myo Min Thu, secretary of Chaungzon Township Election Sub- office.
A polling station will be opened at the navy camp in Chaungzon Township to allow military personnel and their family members to cast their votes. Police officers and their family members can vote at polling stations opened by respective ward/village commissions.
A total of 62 polling stations will be opened for Chaungzon Township’s 123,788 eligible voters, meaning that each polling station will be required to accommodate approximately 2,000 voters.
In addition to the 123,788 people on the current voter list, 719 migrant workers are set to be added after they applied with Form 3A. The final voter list will be released from November 2 to 5, three days before the election.
