Khine Nwe Oo — All candidates who ran for office in Tanintharyi Region have submitted their election expenses paperwork before the set deadline, according to Dawei District Election Sub-Commission’s officer U Htain Linn Oo.

“All candidates have submitted [the expenses]. There aren’t any problems. There aren’t any objections against their submissions,” he told the BNI Election Newsroom.

The deadline for the submission of election expenses paperwork was December 14th. All 43 winning candidates in Tanintharyi Region have submitted their expenses filings. The auditing office has now taken charge and is going over their submissions.

“The candidates submitted them right before the deadline. I think they submitted them late because they were worried about objection letters if they submitted them earlier,” said U Htain Linn Oo.

Only 29 candidates submitted their expenses before December 2nd. None of the candidates has been disqualified so far.
