Khine Nwe Oo — Winning candidates from the National League for Democracy (NLD) say they will work with local associations to take part in trash cleanup programs in Tanintharyi Region.
A Regional Parliament’s winning candidate, U Khin Maung, Aye told the BNI Election Newsroom that the cleanup program will be carried out before December 12th and local associations will help the candidates during the cleaning of rancid garbage and medical waste from hospitals. Garbage from markets will also be cleaned up.
“There is a lot of rancid garbage here. We will focus our program on the markets and hospitals,” said U Khin Maung Aye.
Local philanthropic associations have been cooperating with the NLD since the holding of a pagoda festival in Dawei. U Ho Pin who won a State seat from Dawei Constituency No 2 told the BNI Election Newsroom that the party will encourage participation from local residents.
“The associations will be joining us. We will consult with them and start the cleanup. If local residents want to help us, they can help us” U Ho Pin told BNI.
The NLD’s chairperson, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, has urged winning candidates from across the country to carry out cleanup programs in their respective states and regions,
