Khine Nwe Oo — According to an eyewitness, a man wearing a general administrator badge entered a polling station in Myeiktaung Village in the Tanintharyi Region’s Myeik Township and proceeded to rip up the voter list.

“When we asked the polling station officer, he said the man came inside without his knowledge and tore up voter list saying that these people don’t have the right to vote. We don’t know how many people were on the list the man destroyed,” said Ko Ye Htet Aung, a Myeik Township in-charge for Tanintharyi Region Youths Organization.

According to the youth leader nothing had been arranged for the voters included in the list.

“Some of the people came to vote as their names were included in the first release, but had to leave without voting because their names couldn’t be found,” said Ko Ye Htet Aung.
