TNLA Announces Complete Control Over Mogok, Myanmar’s Ruby Hub

The Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has declared that it has gained full control over Mogok, a key ruby-mining town located in Myanmar's Mandalay Region. The announcement came on July 24, exactly one month after the initiating of the second phase of 'Operation 1027'.

The TNLA's operation successfully eliminated the remaining junta forces from Mogok around 5:00 PM, establishing its control over the town.

This achievement was confirmed by video footage and photographs that have emerged on social media, depicting locals joyfully greeting TNLA and allied People's Defense Force (PDF) troops as they entered the town in a military convoy.

Previously, Mogok was a strategic site for the junta, housing the 78th and 88th infantry battalions of the Central Regional Military Command, as well as the base of the 148th Infantry Battalion.

In the aftermath of its takeover, the TNLA reported the capture of an array of military equipment from the junta, including Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS), 73 firearms, two 120mm mortars, 11 60mm mortars, one 81mm mortar, three light machine guns, two rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), a jammer machine, and various other military equipment.

The conflict in Mogok has resulted in significant civilian casualties, with 31 individuals reported dead, including 14 men, 8 women, and 9 children. Additionally, 59 civilians were injured, and the junta's airstrikes led to the destruction of 4 monasteries and 29 houses.

Following the military triumph in Mogok, TNLA-led coalition has initiated an offensive against the junta's remaining hill-based tactical operation command in Mongmit (Momeik), situated approximately 28 miles from Mogok.
