Schools will hold exams in 3rd week of February

Students from all classes of all standards will have their final exams for upgrading in the third week of February 2022.  This will take place after students have had classes for three and half months, reported the Education Office.

“We have already sent our curriculum to schools in respective townships. We have not received detailed instructions for the final exams yet, “ said U Thein Aung, director of Mon State Education Office.

Except for schools in 46 townships, the exams will be conducted according to this timeline and the curriculum was already reviewed.

“The academic duration will be only 14 weeks (3 and half months). For that duration, we already finished the curriculum. We already sent it to schools in the regions and states. After teaching according to the curriculum, like before, the exams will take place in February,” said an official from the Ministry of Education, to state media.

Teaching to the curriculum will be completed within the three and half months, and the days off from school will be reduced accordingly.

Instead of days off in December, there will be classes and if needed, classes will take place on weekends, according to an official from the Education Office.

Although classes were held in early June when the COVID-19 third wave started, schools were closed in July when COVID-19 case numbers spiked. Schools have been closed till the end of October.
