Resistance groups fought with regime’s armed forces in Kalay town on Monday night. During the battle, the regime indiscriminately fired 12 shells, injuring seven civilians and their properties in Tar Han ward.
“A shell landed in front of my house and I sustained minor injuries. I’m lucky that it wasn’t critical and I didn’t lose my arms and legs,” a male victim from Tar Han ward told Khonumthung News, wishing to remain anonymous.
Four houses in the town in Sagaing Region were completely destroyed after seven shells hit Zone A of the ward, which has been frequently shelled by the Burma Army (BA).
On 28 May, two women and a man were killed when a shell from BA hit near their house behind Agape Hospital.
A shell also hit a house on 25 May, but no one was injured. A woman and her daughter were injured by junta shelling on 10 May when a shell struck their house.
