A Pyu Saw Htee member accused of being a drug dealer killed in Launglon

Launglon PDF claimed that they had eliminated a Pyu Saw Htee member, who was also a drug dealer in Launglon Township in Dawei District.

When 33-year-old Zaw Win Shein, a member of Pyu Saw Htee, who also sold drugs in Maungmakan Village in Launglon Township, was arrested and interrogated, he resisted and tried to escape hence he had to be exterminated, according to a statement issued by Launglon PDF on October 9.

“He was notorious for selling drugs. He should be even mentioned as the chief drug dealer in the region. And being a member of Pyu Saw Htee, he could rely on the Military and was unruly”, Launglon PDF stated.

At around 7:30 PM of October 8, when Zaw Win Shein, a member of Pyu Saw Htee, was at his home in Maungmakan Village, 6 people came to interrogate him and shot him dead, a villager said.

A joint statement issued by Regional resistance forces including PDF, DGRF and TPDF on October 9 said that they visited and interrogated Pyu Saw Htee member Zaw Win Shien according to intel reports.

A point-22 gun, an air gun, a hitting rod, a sword, A kilo scale used to weigh drugs, four phones, 14-lakh Myanmar Kyats in cash and items related to drug use were seized after Zaw Win Shin's home was searched, Launglon PDF announced.

Zaw Win Shein was survived by a wife, a 6-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter at the time of his death. The dead body was cremated in the afternoon of October 9, the villagers said.

In their statement, the Launglon PDF further warned not to engage in drug trafficking in the Dawei Region and those who continue to do so would be seriously taken actions.
