A new Chin State Hluttaw office with a media corner will be opened before the year’s end, the Chin State Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Aung Than said.
“We still need to build a 40-foot wide concrete road in front of the office in order to open the hluttaw office. Also, we still need to build a fence and install electrical wiring, CCTV, and sound system. All the work has been completed. We plan to do more in the next fiscal year. We expect to open the office by the end of the cold season,” said U Aung Than.
The new Chin State Hluttaw office will include separate rooms for journalists and special arrangements for observers, he continued.
The current Chin State Hluttaw is joined with the Chin State government office so it cannot provide space for the affairs committee and journalists and observers.
“The previous hluttaw [building] is small. There’s no meeting hall for the affairs committee. The new building will have a meeting hall for the affairs committee and the room layout is wider than before. It is joined with a guest house so the MPs won't need to stay at the government’s guest house anymore. There will also be a wider parking space,” he added.
