Moderate quake jolts Rakhine
An earthquake of 5.6 magnitude jolted Rakhine (Arakan) State in western Myanmar today afternoon, said a report from NayPyiTaw based Myanmar meteorology and hydrology department.
According to the report the moderate quake struck at 4.18.05 (local time) and lasted for around 5 seconds.
The epicenter is identified at around 5 miles northeast of Minbya locality in Arakan.
The tremor was felt in Sittwe, Minbya, Mrauk U, Kyauk Taw, Ponna Kyunt, Pauk Taw, etc cities of the State.
