Kanpetlet People's Administrative Team Blacklists Over 300 Non-CDM Teachers

The People’s Administrative Team of Kanpetlet Township in Chin State has declared the blacklisting of

over 300 local educational staff who have chosen not to participate in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), and instead collaborated with the Junta’s post- coup administration.

"Those on the blacklist will be denied passage through CDF (Chinland Defence Force) checkpoints, with more measures of increasing severity anticipated. In Kanpetlet, not even a single school run by the Military Council should exist. The announcement of this blacklist aims to address the issue of blurred lines and lack of differentiation between CDM and non-CDM staff”, a representative of the People's Administrative Team explained about the declaration of the blacklist on July 4th.

A total of 322 educational staff members out of the 800 in Kanpetlet have been listed in the blacklist for their continued employment under the Military Council.

However the People's Administrative Team has made it clear that individuals whose names appear on the blacklist have the option to file an appeal, and have their names removed if they can provide substantial evidence of their alignment with CDM.

The majority of the blacklisted educational staff consists of teachers employed in schools operated by the Military Council, individuals who falsely claimed association with CDM while still receiving government salaries, and those who have established private tuition classes.

The Military Council managed to keep only a limited number of schools operational in Kanpetlet, along with a few schools in Kyindway. An official from the People's Administrative Team of Kanpetlet Township stated that in the remaining 100 villages of the township, People's Schools run by revolutionary forces have been established.

CDM staff and volunteers are actively involved in teaching at the People's Schools in Kanpetlet, covering a range of grade levels from primary to high school. However, the persistent issues of insufficient teaching staff and a scarcity of teaching aids continues to plague these schools.
