Two junta troops raped a teenage girl in Mhwalpi Village, located in the Siyin ethnic territory of Tedim Township, Chin State, on July 5.
Junta troops loaded on 6 military vehicles from Kale Township headed for the Chin Mountain Range and arrived at Mhwalpi Village on July 5. Two soldiers from that horde of junta personnel sexually assaulted a 13-year-old local girl on that day, according to Chinland Defence Force/ Civic Defence Militia – Siyin (CDF/CDM-Siyin).
The village locals and elders reported the heinous crime to the junta officers, who responded that they would negotiate a compensation to settle the case.
While stationed in Mhwalpi Village, some junta troops also attempted to sexually assault another 13-year-old girl and a mother, but they managed to escape, CDF/CDM-Siyin announced.
CDF/CDM-Siyin also declared its intention to take decisive action against the perpetrators of the rape case and to provide long-term support for the safety and dignity of the victim girl.
Previously on November 11, 2021, junta troops raped a married woman residing in Arlwe Village in Siyin ethnic territory.
