Yangon Rescue Organisation (YRO) said that IDPs in Arakan State are facing health problems because of unclean water that they drink in the camps.
“We saw some kids with sore eyes. Their drinking water isn’t clean and it’s detrimental to their health. They don’t have substantial supply of clean drinking water. In some camps, their drinking water looks like muddy water,” Daw Khin Mya Aye, deputy chairperson of YRO said.
Yangon Rescue Organisation visited seven camps - Tin Nyo, Sinbaw Kyaing, Let Kaung Zay, War Taung, Inn Thar, Shwe Kyan and Myat Hlay - in Mrauk U, Minbya, Ponnagyun and Kyauktaw townships and donated food and medicine which is worth 10,000,000 MMK.
Daw Khin Mya Aye said that they will keep helping the refugees even though they aren’t able to go back to their homes yet.
Rakhine Ethnic Committee (REC) stated that up to 65,000 people have been displaced by fighting between the Tatmadaw and Arakan Army (AA) in Northern Arakan State.
