New Mon State Party (Anti-Dictatorship) Holds Discussions with Mon Organizations

The New Mon State Party (Anti-Dictatorship) (NMSP-AD), recently held discussions with various Mon civil organizations to provide updates on the current military and political situation and gather public perspectives.

The meeting, which took place in a liberated area on November 2, saw the participation of over 200 representatives from different groups.

During the meeting, NMSP-AD Deputy Leader Nai Banyar Lae presented an overview of the political climate, while military-related matters were addressed by relevant officials.

Nai Gongsakar, NMSP-AD spokesperson, said, “the primary objective of this meeting was for NMSP-AD to directly inform the public about the ongoing military and political situation. Today, battles are happening across the country, including in Mon State, and the group wanted to share insights on potential developments in this region. Over the past eight months, we have been active politically and militarily, and this meeting allowed us to clarify the ways Mon armed groups are cooperating and organizing to meet these challenges.”

Following the briefing, attendees engaged in a Q&A session, raising further inquiries and offering suggestions.

NMSP-AD has previously held similar discussions with Mon organizations, monks, and others, including an online meeting in May, to share updates. The group continues to engage with local Mon communities, youth, and Mon diaspora to keep them informed about the evolving situation.

NMSP-AD split from the main New Mon State Party on February 14, announcing its commitment to ally with revolutionary groups and oppose the military dictatorship.
