A resurgence of fighting is taking place between the junta forces and the joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), who are trying to invade Lay Kay Kaw held by KNU Bridgaed 6, the Cobra Column reported.
Starting from the evening of September 7, the junta armed forces clashed with a resistance unit of Cobra Column under KNU Battalion 27 in Lay Kay Kaw.
During the battle, the military council fired and attacked with a variety of weapons, but the Cobra comrades were unharmed, while the military council might have suffered casualties.
"Motor shelling occurred in Lay Kay Kaw for a week. Yesterday, the fighting started again. The army is trying to invade the area controlled by Cobra Column in various ways," said the information officer of the Cobra Column.
In addition, on September 12, the military forces based at Kyawboe Hill on the Myawaddy-Walley road fired heavy weapons at the joint force of Karen National Liberation Army Battalion 27’s Cobra Column.

Tens of thousands of locals have sought refuge in the neighboring forests and areas close to the Thaungyin River on the Thai-Myanmar border as a result of fighting between the KNLA alliance and the military council that has been going on in the new town of Lay Kay Kaw since December of last year.
