Fighting is raging between the Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army (AA) in Paletwa Township in western Myanmar border.
The Arakan Army announced that a clash broke out near Ohn Thee Wa Village in the northwest of Paletwa Township for nearly 20 minutes from 8:50 am to 9:10 am on September 23.
One Arakan Army member was killed and four Tatmadaw troops were killed and some were wounded during the clash, according to the Arakan Army’s statement.
The clash took place in 5.5 km north of Ohn Thee Wa Village.
A similar clash broke out between the Arakan Army and the Tatmadaw’s 289th Infantry Battalion (IB-289) near Hta Oh Pi Village in the north of Shein Ma Dain Village from 8:30 am to 9:30 am on September 21.
The Arakan Army stated that there have been causalities during that heavy clash.
Some Arakan Army troops received injuries while the Tatmadaw troops were killed and wounded in the clash, according to the Arakan Army.
Two Arakan Army troops were injured and around four Tatmadaw troops were killed and some were wounded during a 20-minute clash near Hta Yaw Ai in Paletwa Township on September 10, according to the Arakan Army.
A local Rakhine resident of Paletwa said the local residents are becoming more concerned due to frequent clashes at the India border in Paletwa Township within these days.
