The Chin State government will open a cement factory in Bungzung Village of Hakha District, Chin State, according to the Chin State Chief Minister Salai Lian Luai.
Success has been achieved in the surveys to check whether the cement factory meets the quality standard.
“The union government has been cooperating with the Ministry of Resources and Mining. The Vice President is also doing his best. The state government has been cooperating with the union [government],” the chief minister told the Chin World.
Bungzung Village located on the plains in the Chin State and it is near the border between the Chin State and Magway Region.
The Chin State Chief Minister said the state government also plans to build railways in Bungzung Village.
“There are plans to build a cement factory and a train station. We are preparing to carry them out. We have conducted surveys. I don’t know which company will take charge in carrying them out. The union [government] is negotiating it,” he continued.
Besides the Chin State government and the union government, foreign experts have also conducted surveys for building the cement factory and they are interesting in carrying out a long-term project.
“It has been tested in India. Foreign [experts] have also conducted surveys. They said it will be successful in the long-term. They said there are rocks for long-term [production] and white gold has been found in these rocks. This is what a company has said. They said it’s good for cement,” the chief minister explained.
