Due to a cyclone named Arsini, the flight and water services in Rakhine State have been temporarily suspended on Tuesday.
"On 22 March, all flights between Sittwe and Yangon have been cancelled due to the cyclone,” said an official of Golden Youth Ticket Office.
At the same time, Shwepyi Tan ferries in the Rakhine coast have also been temporarily suspended from 21 to 23 March, informed Shwepyi Tan speedboat manager U San Maw Thein.
“The cyclone is supposed to hit the coast on 22 and 23 March and hence the service will be suspended till 24 March,” he added.
The cyclone, developed in the Bay of Bengal, may hit Haigyi island under Ayeyarwady region in the afternoon hours of 22 March.
Next morning the cyclone, rated as orange, is expected to cross the Rakhine coast, stated a release of the meteorology and hydrology department on Monday.
