A Mon National College (MNC), which is established in the area under the control of the New Mon State Party (NMSP), started teaching two months ago, however, the Mon National College Fundraising Committee, Mi Kun Chan Non, said that they need financial aids especially for the construction of the college first and then annual operational costs to run college.

The Mon National College Steering Committee has been making efforts to build the college by depending on the donations of the Mon people and the public.  Many Mon donors are still giving donations and the committee currently received less than 100 Millions Kyat.

"As for the funds, we will rely on the donations of the Mon people and advocate them continously.   The Mon people living in overseas foreign countries are encouraged to support. Now we have discussed with overseas Mon from two countries. We will discuss with the rest of the countries. We will also discuss with other interested donors.” Fundraising Committee Mi Kun Chan Non said about the MNC fundraising plan.

Although the Mon National College has been established, the students are learing in existing buildings provided by the Mon National Education Committee.
